MANAMA — Bahrain reported 500 new coronavirus cases and zero deaths on Wednesday, according to the country’s ministry of health, bringing the total number of active cases in the country to 5,908.
The country also reported 392 recoveries in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 25,570.
Currently, there are 60 cases in Bahrain’s intensive care units, 58 receiving treatment, and 4,593 in a stable condition.
The total number of coronavirus deaths in the country remains 98.
Meanwhile, President of the Supreme Council of Health and head of the national medical team to confront coronavirus (COVID-19) Lt. Gen. Dr. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa has said that Bahrain was committed to continue its great efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus by strengthening all precautionary and preventive measures.
Sheikh Mohammed made the statement as he received an Italian medical delegation on a visit to Bahrain.
He stressed that the exchange of experiences and expertise regarding the measures and efforts to mitigate and deal with COVID-19 between the two countries would enhance best practices. — Agencies
