July 08, 2020

RIYADH — Since the emergence of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made great efforts to manage the crisis by forming a specialized committee and creating policy responses to the pandemic.

The government swiftly took measures starting with a vast array of strict precautionary measures to limit the spread of the pandemic and protect the lives of its citizens and residents.

The booklet highlights the timeline of the measures taken by the Saudi government as well as some support initiatives launched by government entities, reflecting the continued and coordinated efforts to mitigate the impact on the private sector and businesses in the hard-hit sectors.

These initiatives, targeting private sector enterprises, investors and individuals, include direct support initiatives, delaying receipts from the private sector, exemptions, delays in loan payments, wage support, and job protection schemes. — SPA
