The King Abdulaziz University President Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Obaid Al-Youbi recently launched a curriculum and training program for the prevention of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection within the university students’ curricula, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Wednesday.

Dr. Al-Youbi’s inauguration of this curriculum coincides with the return to normal life under the motto "We return with caution", to contribute to maintaining mandatory social distancing and implementing the necessary precautionary and preventive measures in the university environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This curriculum and program were prepared by the Health Promotion Center, in partnership with the College of Medicine and the Deanship of E-Learning and Distance Education.

The Training and Studies Unit at the Center and a specialized team of experts developed the curriculum in an integrated manner for training purposes and prevention of the coronavirus pandemic, in line with the highest standards in international universities.

This curriculum and training program contains three chapters aiming at acquainting students with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and its latest developments.

The first chapter focuses on the outbreak of COVID-19, ways to identify it and its impact on human health. The second chapter is on the preventive measures used to fight the virus, while the third chapter focuses on the role of public health and research work in tackling the infection and preventing its proliferation.

The curriculum and training program also involves working remotely on the use of various education tools, such as, educational lectures, scientific articles, training videos, graphs, infographic illustrations, and enlightenment questions and answers.
