Qatar cases rise to 103,598 as 470 new infections found

DOHA — Qatar reported 470 new cases of the deadly coronavirus, raising the total number of infections in the country to 103,598, the Ministry of Public Health said on Sunday.

One person died of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, which brings the total number of virus-related deaths in the country to 147.

The number of recoveries in Qatar rose to 99,743 after 809 people recovered from the coronavirus.

As many as 3,483 new COVID-19 tests were carried out, the ministry said, taking the total to 412,682.

Meanwhile, Hamad Medical Corporation said that since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, nearly 13,000 nurses have provided essential services to tens of thousands of patients across a wide spectrum of COVID-19 related healthcare sites.

Nursing teams from Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) have expertly delivered care in a wide range of settings, including at HMCs seven COVID-19 designated hospitals, PHCCs four main COVID-19 testing health centers, and numerous isolation facilities across the country. — Agencies
