The letter "Only intensive police patrols can stop reckless driving" (Sep. 13) calls on police to take an active role in stopping the reckless driving which leads to so many traffic accidents and the deaths and injuries resulting from them. Although this is very important, here in Riyadh police need to first curb thefts happening in and around the Hara district, especially in the area behind the Marriott Hotel. Every week we either see or hear of another incident with no action taken by police even though we have registered many complaints.
