Jeddah boasts of 23 walkways, covering 49km

JEDDAH – Jeddah, the Bride of the Red Sea, has several tourism components, including 23 walkways, designed to the highest standards, covering a total length of 49 kilometers.

They serve as an ideal place for people of Jeddah and the city’s visitors for strolling. These facilities also cater to the recreational needs of people of all age groups and help them improve their physical fitness.


The walkways encourage people to regularly go for a stroll and adopt a healthy and more active lifestyle, drawing others to follow suit.

The waterfront promenade in the Jeddah Corniche is among the longest of these walkways with a length of 4,500 meters and a width of 10 meters.

The walkway in Prince Fawaz neighborhood, with the same length and a width of 15 meters, comes next to it. The promenade of Prince Faisal Bin Fahd Street has the largest width between 25 and 75 meters, followed by the Al-Rehab walkway which has a width ranging between 24 and 42 meters.


Walkways were set up for the benefit of all segments of the society with a wide variety of facilities and services, including those for the elderly and people with special needs.

The walkways are equipped with signboards, colors and numbers showing meters and distance covered by strollers.

The walkways provide convenient and leisurely jogging paths. There are also specific bicycle paths on which bike enthusiasts can make the most of the opportunity out in the open throughout the day.
