ABU DHABI — The United Arab Emirates on Saturday recorded 254 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 60,760, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health and Prevention carried by WAM.

The new patients, all of whom are in a stable condition and receiving the necessary medical care, were detected after the ministry conducted 43,000 additional COVID-19 tests among different segments of the society over the past few days.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to continue expanding the scope of testing nationwide to facilitate the early detection of coronavirus cases and carry out the necessary treatment.

With no virus-related death reported on Saturday, the death toll in the country stands at 351.

Meanwhile, 346 people have completely recovered from the deadly disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the UAE to 54,255.
