Woman infected with coronavirus gives birth to healthy triplets in Al-Jouf

AL-JOUF — A woman infected with coronavirus gave birth to healthy triplets in Al-Jouf region of Saudi Arabia, Arabic newspapers reported on Wednesday.

A specialized team of doctors and technicians performed a C-section on the woman at Maternity and Children Hospital in Sakka city of Al-Jouf.

The surgery was carried out following all precautionary measures and protocols issued by the Ministry of Health with regard to dealing with mothers infected or suspected of being infected with the virus and their newborns in a manner that guarantees their safety as well as of health practitioners involved in the process.

According to the hospital, the new-born babies are in good health and have tested negative for coronavirus. The mother is also in good health.

Earlier this week, the same hospital witnessed the birth of 33 babies during the three days of Eid Al-Adha.

According to Al-Jouf Health Authority, there were 8 cases of C-section and 25 normal deliveries.
