Kuwait reports 472 new COVID-19 cases

KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait reported 472 new cases of the deadly coronavirus on Saturday, increasing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 71,199, the ministry of health said.

Three people died due to complications caused by COVID-19, bringing the virus-related death toll in the country to 474.

Meanwhile, the number of recoveries in Kuwait rose to 62,806 after 476 people recovered.

Presently, 7,926 patients are being treated in hospitals, with 124 of them being held in ICU, the statement added.

Kuwait started the third-phase plan of restoring normal life as of July 28.

On Aug. 1, Kuwait resumed commercial flights to its international airport, but banned some flights to specific countries. — Agencies
