MADINAH — The bravery and heroic act of a Saudi female nurse saved the lives of several persons of a family involved in a traffic accident on Hijrah Road in Madinah.
Kholoud Al-Saedi provided first aid to the injured till a Saudi Red Crescent Authority ambulance arrived at the scene.
Muayyad Abu Anaq, spokesman of the General Directorate of Health Affairs in Madinah Region, said that Kholoud, a nurse at Al-Mahfar health center in Hanakiya governorate in Madinah, happened to witness the accident while she was on her way back home after finishing her duty on Thursday evening.
Kholoud immediately stopped her car and rushed to the accident scene where she witnessed signs of life in those who were trapped inside the mangled car. She soon gave first aid to them, fixed the back and neck of a patient who complained of acute pain, and gave life saving care to them until the arrival of the Red Crescent medics.
Abu Anaq said Kholoud had done a heroic and humane act in saving the lives of the members of the family through her instant care and support in their hour of distress. He said Director General of Health Affairs in Madinah Region Dr. Muhammad Al-Khalawi called Kholoud to thank and appreciate her humanitarian effort, saying that she translated into action the highest meanings of humanity and loyalty in the service of her community and the homeland.
