36 more COVID-19 deaths in Saudi Arabia

RIYADH —
A total of 1,569 new coronavirus cases were detected in Saudi Arabia over the past 24 hours, raising the total to 293,037, the health ministry announced on Wednesday.

With the recovery of 2,151 people who had previously tested positive for the virus, the total number of recovered cases increased to 257,269, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying. Of the 32,499 active cases in the Kingdom, 1,826 are critical, he added.

There were 36 more fatalities, he said. The overall death toll now stands at 3,269, the spokesman said.

Of the new cases detected on Wednesday, 78 were in Riyadh, 75 in Hail and 68 in Makkah. There were 66 infections in Jeddah, 60 in Madinah, 57 in Khamis Mushayt, 52 in Dammam and 50 in Hufof. The other cases were scattered in different regions across the Kingdom.
