TAIF —
Al-Shafa is the highest mountain in Taif region situated along the Sarawat Mountain Range at an altitude of 2,500 meters above the sea level. It gives a mesmerizing experience to the visitors as they have the feeling of embracing the clouds at a highland, which is scented with the flagrant of its trees and flowers.

The Jabal Dakka or Dakka Mountain is the highest spot in the area, which is part of the Hejaz Mountains and is located 25 km southwest of Taif. The 10,000-sq. meter Dakka Mountain Park sits on the peak and offers stunning views over the local mountain range and is surrounded by nature interspersed with a path for hiking and mountaineering, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said on Monday.

Visitors can enjoy a trip from the heights of the Sarawat Mountains to the coast of the Red Sea in an exciting experience traveling along the mountains, plains and the coast via Al-Muhammadiyah Mountain pass road near Dakka Mountain Park, or enjoy a trip via cable car.

Al-Shafa, with its topography and the natural diversity, is one of the places that satisfy the passion of mountain climbers and safari enthusiasts using SUVs or mountain bikes. In the midst of picturesque nature, there are many options for accommodation and recreation in the Shafa Tourist Center.

The charm of the place lies mainly in the beauty of the greenery of juniper trees, the breeze of aromatic plants and the gush of waterfalls. There are many hotels and shelters as well as non-traditional hostels and wooden huts in the area.

The vegetation of the mountain is covered with juniper trees while plants cover the bottom of the mountain and then gradually thins out until it reaches the top. It is home to many of Taif’s agricultural products and boasts of breathtaking scenery.
