Kuwait reports 571 infections, two deaths

KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait reported on Sunday two coronavirus-related deaths and 571 infections, bringing the death toll to 515 and the total number of registered cases to 80,528.

Ministry of Health spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad said 537 patients have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries since the beginning of the pandemic to 72,307.

The total number of active cases in Kuwait is 7,706, 97 of whom are serious cases in intensive care units.

The country has conducted 2,443 coronavirus tests in the past 24 hours, bringing the testing toal to 587,567.

Dr. Al-Sanad said cases in the health areas were: 162 in Ahmadi, 126 in Hawally, 113 in Farwaniya, 105 in the Capital and 65 in Jahra.

He urged the public anew to abide by the health preventive measures including physical distancing. — Agencies
