Bahrain recoveries more than new COVID-19 cases

MANAMA — The Bahrain health ministry has reported 357 new cases of the COVID-19 coronavirus, along with 362 recoveries.

Of the new cases, 117 were among expatriate workers, 240 were contacts of active cases, and five were travel related.

One new death was also reported. The death toll rose to 186.

As many as 9,574 COVID-19 tests were carried out on Tuesday, the ministry said, taking the total number of recoveries to 46,673.

There are currently 32 COVID-19 cases in a critical condition, and 63 cases receiving treatment. A total of 3,185 cases are stable out of a total of 3,217 active cases.

Meanwhile, the education ministry has taken action to ensure a safe return to schools while complying with measures to deal with the coronavirus in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Health and the health ministry.

The move follows directives from the Government Executive Committee chaired by Crown Prince Salman Bin Hamad.

The ministry said that necessary arrangements for a safe return to schools have been finalised in co-ordination with a national team in charge of reopening educational establishments. — Agencies
