Saudi corona cases decline further

RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia on Wednesday reported 1,068 new COVID-19 cases, along with 1,013 recoveries, marking the Kingdom's lowest daily increase in months. There were 1,114 COVID-19 cases in the country on Tuesday. Thirty-three deaths were also recorded during the past 24 hours, the health ministry said.

This takes the total reported cases in the country to 310,836, and recoveries to 284,945. The death tally has now climbed to 3,755.

There are 22,136 active cases in the Kingdom, of which 1,601 are critical, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.

Jazan topped the list of cities with new cases and reported 84 infections on Tuesday as against 56 reported a day before. There were 67 cases in Makkah, 57 in Madinah, 55 in Riyadh, 48 in Tabuk, 35 in Al-Harjah, 31 each in Hail and Jeddah, 30 in Hufof, 28 in Sabya, 27 each in Beesh and Wadi Al-Dwasir, 26 in Dammam, 25 in Mobarraz, and 20 each in Makhwah and Buraidah.

The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, Dr. Al-Abdel Ali said.
