CAIRO —
Robbery appears to be the motive behind the murder of a Saudi citizen in Cairo in July, the Kingdom's embassy said here in a statement.

The Saudi citizen's body was found in his apartment in Cairo's Sayyida Zainab District. The embassy statement said it followed the incident with the competent authorities that led to the arrest of four suspects. "Preliminary investigations indicate that robbery was the motive behind the murder," the statement said.

The embassy contacted the family of the victim, and repatriated his body to the Kingdom on July 29 after completion of all the procedures.

The embassy offered its sincere condolences and sympathy to the citizen's family, praying to Almighty Allah to have mercy on his soul and make paradise his abode.

The embassy lauded the efforts of the competent security authorities in Egypt for speedily dealing with the crime. "Their immediate action resulted in the arrest of the accused in a record time," the embassy statement said.

The embassy is following up the investigation process with the competent security authorities. It is also updating pertinent authorities in the Kingdom and the family of the deceased on the latest developments, the statement said.
