KHARTOUM — A Saudi relief plane carrying 90 ton of shelter and food aid, including 300 tents, 300 shelter bags, 1,800 blankets, 210 food baskets and 40 ton of dates, arrived here on Monday.

The aid to the Sudanese people, affected by torrential rains and flooding, has been sent in implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said Tuesday.

The aid is part of relief efforts carried out by King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) as an urgent response to help the Sudanese people affected by torrential rains and flooding that struck Sudan recently.

The aid will be distributed by Al-Eghtinam Human Development Organization, KSrelief’s local implementing partner, in coordination with the Saudi Arabia’s embassy in Khartoum, benefiting 31,980 individuals in Sudan.

It comes within the framework of the assistance provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by KSrelief, to support the distressed Sudanese people.
