G20 foreign ministers to discuss global cooperation in extraordinary meeting

RIYADH — The Saudi G20 Presidency will host an extraordinary virtual meeting of foreign ministers on Thursday (Sept. 3).

The meeting will focus on the way forward to realize opportunities of the 21st century for all by addressing the importance of opening borders to protect lives and livelihoods.

The ministers along with representatives of invited countries as well as international organizations will discuss the way forward to foster international cooperation to reinforce a cross-border preparedness framework for the future.

The G20 Presidency said it will continue to work actively with all G20 members, invited countries, and regional and international organizations to foster global cooperation and restore growth.

The ministers will also discuss with their counterparts the lessons learned from the global pandemic and enhancing G20 coordination in response to COVID-19.
