RIYADH —
With 768 new cases, Saudi Arabia's coronavirus infections remained steady in the last 24 hours. Monday's tally brought the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 321,456, the ministry of health announced.

There was a decrease in the new COVID-19 fatalities, the ministry said. Twenty-six people died due to complications caused by the virus in the past 24 hours, raising the overall death toll to 4,107.

The total number of recoveries in Saudi Arabia rose to 297,623 after 886 people recovered, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.

Makkah again topped the list with 67 new infections recorded on Monday. There were 57 cases in Jeddah, 50 in Madinah, 46 each in Riyadh and Hufof, 44 in Dhahran, 27 in Hail and 25 in Al-Mobarraz.

The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, Dr. Al-Abdel Ali said.

The number of critical cases has also decreased by six percent, the spokesperson said on Sunday.

The largest group of people to be affected by the coronavirus in Saudi Arabia is the youth in the country, he said, urging all members of the public to follow preventative measures to help contain the outbreak.

Saudi Arabia recorded its highest daily on increase on June 19 when 4,301 cases were confirmed over a 24-hour period.
