RIYADH — An Asian expatriate has been arrested for allegedly operating an illegal dental clinic in the capital city. An unidentified quantity of medicines of unknown sources were also seized from his clinic, local media reports said on Wednesday.
Riyadh Health Department said its inspection teams detected the clandestine business.
“The fake dentist was immediately stopped from practicing work and handed over to the police for referral to the prosecution for interrogation and taking all legal measures against him,” the statement said.
Article 28 of Saudi Law of Practicing Healthcare Professions states without prejudice to any severer punishment provided for in other laws, a violating individual shall be subject to imprisonment for a period not exceeding six months and a fine not exceeding SR100,000 riyals, or either punishment.
