MANAMA — The declaration of support for peace between Bahrain and Israel is a historic and significant step toward establishing peace in the Middle East as well as a realistic step that helps put an end to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict in accordance with the Arab Initiative, the information minister has said.

Ali bin Mohammed Al Romaihi stressed Bahrain's firm and steadfast position towards the rights of the Palestinian people, which are at the top of its priorities, and the need to obtain their full legitimate rights.

"All historical precedents confirm that all the kingdom's initiatives and decisions have always been in the interest of the Palestinian people and protecting them, and no one can outbid the Kingdom in this regard,” Al Romaihi said.

“Bahrain’s signing of a declaration in support of peace with Israel represents one of the kingdom's international efforts to spread the culture of peace and peaceful coexistence across the world.”

Al Romaihi said Bahrain received an invitation from President Donald Trump to attend the signing ceremony of peace between the United Arab Emirates and Israel on Sept. 15 at the White House.

Bahrain accepted the invitation and it will be represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif Al Zayani who will sign a Declaration of Peace that would lead to establishing full diplomatic ties between Bahrain and Israel, he added. — Bahrain News Agency
