WASHINGTON — Britain’s Foreign Minister Dominic Raab on Wednesday lauded the historic signing of peace agreements between the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Israel, hailing the US leadership after a meeting with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in Washington. “We fully support the agreements between the UAE and Bahrain with Israel,” he said at a joint media conference.

“These are really important steps towards a more peaceful and prosperous Middle East. We also believe it is an opportunity for dialogue between the Israelis and the Palestinians. I think that will be ultimately necessary for an enduring two-state solution.”

Pompeo said that watching three nations together establishing relations was a great day.

“These historic events show what is possible when people of goodwill work towards achieving peace,” he said. — BNA
