Oman’s infection tally hits 93,475

MUSCAT — The overall infections of the coronavirus in Oman have climbed to 93,475, an increase of 1,722 cases against the country’s last tally announced on Thursday.

The health ministry put the country’s total deaths from COVID-19 at 846, showing 28 more fatalities since Thursday.

The total recoveries in the sultanate have reached 85,418, or 91.3 percent, the ministry said, according to the Omani news agency ONA.

The ministry also pointed out that 64 cases were hospitalized over the past 24 hours, adding that the total number of current hospitalized COVID-19-infected patients stands at 554, of them172 are in intensive care units (ICUs).

In mid-August, Oman lifted a ban on night-time movement that was imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19. — Agencies
