Saudi Arabia has recorded 492 new coronavirus cases and 1,060 new recoveries on Monday, the ministry of health reported. The death toll stood at 4,512 after 27 deaths were reported on Monday.

On Sunday the ministry reported 483 new infections, the lowest number in about five months.

The overall number of infected cases rose to 330,246 and recoveries to 311,499.

Makkah with 58 cases recorded the highest number of cases on Monday. There were 53 cases in Jeddah, 38 in Madinah, 32 in Riyadh, 31 in Hufof and 20 cases in Dammam, health ministry spokesman Dr. Muhammad Al-Abdel Ali was quoted by Saudi Press Agency (SPA) as saying.

The rest of the cases were scattered in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom, the spokesman said.

The Kingdom confirmed its first COVID-19 case on March 2 via a Saudi national returning from Iran.

Last week, Saudi Arabia allowed certain categories of citizens and residents to exit and re-enter the Kingdom through all land, sea, and airports, given that all coronavirus-related precautionary measures are followed.
