RIYADH — The General Authority of Meteorology and Environmental Protection predicted that there are increased chances of thunderstorms and moderate to heavy rains in some regions of the Kingdom from Tuesday evening until Friday.
Accordingly, the General Directorate of Civil Defense warned the public to be wary of the potential dangers caused by the inclement weather conditions, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The Civil Defense Directorate said in a statement that rain accompanied by thunderstorms is predicted to hit some regions of the Kingdom, including Makkah Asir, Jazan and Al-Baha.
Moderate to heavy rain and brisk winds are likely to be experienced in these regions and there is a possibility for torrential downpour and flashfloods while regions such as Madinah and the Eastern Province will be affected by light to moderate rain and brisk winds.
The General Directorate of Civil Defense called on everyone to stay away from places of flashfloods and water pools following torrential rain and to abide by the Civil Defense instructions announced through various media outlets to ensure their safety.
