King Salman, Crown Prince condole new Kuwait’s emir on death of Sheikh Sabah

NEOM — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman made separate phone calls on Tuesday to new Kuwait Emir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, expressing his condolences on the death of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

During his call, King Salman said: "We have lost a dear brother and a leader who devoted his life to serve his homeland, Arab and Islamic world and the human community. He earned a distinguished position and esteem among the leaders and people of the world. We offer our condolences to all the peoples of the GCC and the Arab and Islamic nations."

Sheikh Sabah passed away after a journey full of achievements, may Allah bestow mercy upon his soul, King Salman added.

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques expressed his congratulations to Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on assuming power, praying to Allah to help him to serve Kuwait and its people, affirming the Kingdom’s stand with Kuwait.

King Salman prayed to Allah to bestow mercy upon the soul of the deceased, wishing Kuwait more security, prosperity, and stability.

Meanwhile, Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman expressed his sincere condolences on the death of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, asking God Almighty’s mercy and forgiveness for the deceased.

For his part, the Kuwaiti emir expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Crown Prince for his sincere feelings.

King Salman also took to Twitter later to mourn the death of Sheikh Sabah. “With the departure of Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah — may God have mercy on him — I lost a dear brother, a generous friend with great stature. He is highly regarded and deserves all the appreciation,” the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques said in a tweet.

“We will miss him very much so will his people. History will immortalize him as he devoted his life to the service of his country and his Arab and Islamic nations. Our condolences to our people in Kuwait. We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return,” King Salman added.
