911 security center launched in Riyadh

RIYADH —
Saudi Arabia's Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Nayef has launched the Unified Security Operations Center (911) in the Riyadh region on Thursday. The center is subordinated to the National Center for Security Operations.

This center, which is the second of its kind in Saudi Arabia after the one in the Makkah region, aims to develop a joint concept of operations to achieve coordination and integration among all security and service authorities through a unified system to exchange information among security and service leaders, report warnings and orders to different administrative levels, and centralize databases in one place to improve the rate of response speed to emergencies.

The Unified Security Operations Center (911) in the Riyadh region serves 22 counties and districts and Riyadh City. It has centralized 62 operations rooms under one roof using a unified emergency number (911).

The center will be specialized in receiving all emergency calls for the following security authorities: Public Security (Traffic -Special Forces for Road Security - Security Patrols), Civil Defense and Special Forces for Environmental Security according to international standards which guarantee response speed of the field teams regarding the start of the reports and following it up until their end.

The center has several partners, such as the Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Saudi Red Crescent, Saudi Electricity Company, and the National Water Company.

It is worth mentioning that the Unified Security Operations Center (911) is one of the important initiatives implemented by the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the Quality of Life Program (one of Vision 2030 programs) with a view of achieving the program's goals.
