King approves uniform emergency codes; pink color for child abduction cases

RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has approved several decisions taken by the Saudi Health Council (SHC). These included uniform emergency codes in the health sector and a new pink color for child abduction cases.

SHC Secretary General Dr. Nahar Al-Azmi thanked the King for the approval of the decisions, appreciating the constant interest that the Saudi government attaches to improving the level and quality of the performance of health services provided in the Kingdom.

He also thanked Minister of Health and President of SHC Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah and the members of the Council for their interest, follow-up and continuous support to the General Secretariat of the Council and its national centers, to raise the efficiency of health services in accordance with the latest and best scientific methods and standards, to achieve the aspirations of the wise leadership, citizens and residents in the Kingdom.

Dr. Al-Azmi explained that the approval included a number of decisions, including unifying emergency codes in emergency situations and disasters among all health sectors in the Kingdom.

“A pink color has been set for cases of child abduction. The Saudi Patient Safety Center (SPSC) prepared the necessary rules for the disclosure of grave incidents that occurred in the health facility and submit it to SHC to address a number of issues affecting the health system in the Kingdom, and to properly communicate information in this regard.”

The royal approval included the SPSC preparing an annual report on serious incidents in all health sectors, for the purpose of learning and comparison, preparing regulations to reduce such incidents, and emphasize that health sectors conduct an auditory survey of births and document it in the birth file, whether it is electronic or paper.
