JEDDAH — Iranian-backed Houthi militia’s repeated attacks targeting Saudi Arabia have strongly been denounced by the Kingdom’s allies.
On Tuesday, the Houthi militia once again launched an explosive-laden drone targeting the Saudi city of Najran. The drone was successfully intercepted and destroyed by the Arab Coalition forces
In its condemnation, Bahrain said that the terrorist attacks are aimed at undermining security and stability in Saudi Arabia and the region.
"These systematic acts of hostilities reflect a clear determination of the Houthi militia to undermine security and stability in the region, as well as endangering civilians and maritime navigation," Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry reiterated Bahrain's solidarity with Saudi Arabia against anyone who tries to undermine its security and stability.
It also emphasized the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities towards deterring these terrorist militias, putting an end to their continuous violations of international laws and taking firm measures against all who support or finance them."
The secretary-general of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Nayef Al-Hajraf also condemned the drone attacks.
Al-Hajraf stressed that these terrorist acts not only target the security of Saudi Arabia only but also the security and stability of the Gulf region.
Al-Hajraf reaffirmed the GCC's full support for the Kingdom for all measures taken to protect and preserve its security and safety.
The attack was denounced by Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Yousef Al-Othaimeen, The OIC chief also lauded the Arab Coalition forces for intercepting and eventually destroying the armed drone.
Al-Othaimeen reiterated OIC denunciation of terror acts being committed by the Houthi militia and whoever supports them with weapons and money, systematically and deliberately targeting civilians and civil properties.
