Arab Coalition intercepts armed Houthi drone in Yemeni airspace

RIYADH — Arab Coalition forces successfully intercepted and destroyed an armed drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia in the Yemeni airspace, Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday citing a statement from the coalition.

In the statement, the official spokesman for the coalition forces, Col. Turki Al-Maliki, said: “The Joint Coalition Forces managed this evening (Wednesday) to intercept and destroy an explosive-laden drone in the Yemeni airspace, which was launched by the terrorist Houthi militia in a systematic and deliberate manner to target civilians and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia.”

On Tuesday, the coalition forces intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laded drone launched by the Iran-backed Houthi militia targeting the Saudi city of Najran.
