Symposium on Artificial Intelligence in Media to be organized

DUBAI — Gulf Radio and Television Organization of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States organizes the symposium “Artificial Intelligence in Media,” on Oct. 12, 2020, between 8-9 p.m., via videoconference technology.

Participants include media professionals interested in artificial intelligence. The symposium aims at media development of Gulf radio and television agencies through investing in artificial intelligence technologies. The symposium will be livestreamed through the organization’s Twitter account @GCCGRT.

Gulf Radio and Television Director General Majri Bin Mubarak Al-Qahtani said, “The symposium is paramount at the time, especially within the global media technological development in content creation and interaction with targeted audience through digital platforms.

The symposium is a continuation of the organization’s efforts to organize festivals, events, and media symposia, to meet the expectations and aspirations of Gulf media industry development.”

The symposium will be moderated by Abdullah Maghram, advisor in Interactive Media Technologies. The speakers are Dr. Obaid Saad Shaksy (CEO of media training center in Oman), Dr. Nahed Bashath (chief editor of Abaad News and interested in artificial intelligence journalism), Ahmad Menhaly (director of operations and technology at Abu Dhabi Media), and Hatem Kamly (specialist in digital media and marketing).

The symposium tackles some themes relevant to artificial intelligence in media, notably artificial intelligence concept, artificial intelligence reality in the Gulf and global media, and deploying artificial intelligence technologies in media domains and future uses. It concludes with key recommendations and suggestions that serve media in radio and television. — SG
