RIYADH — Faiz Al-Najdi, a Pakistani professional engineer, a writer and a social worker, has been elected as the President of Pakistan Writers Club (PWC) — Riyadh.



He was elected unopposed and unanimously by the members of PWC. This is Al-Najdi’s stint as the president.



Earlier, he was PWC’s president for three years from 2006 — 2009.



He had voluntarily stepped down after it to allow other members to take charge via the democratic process within the Club.



Al-Najdi writes on technical issues, current affairs,human interest stories and reports community events from here.



His work has been published by several English newspapers in Pakistan, including The Lahore Times, and even on online magazines.



He has 20 research publications to his credit and has traveled across the US, Europe and South Asia to present his research papers.



He moderates a group on Yahoo through pakistanwritersclub-riyadh@yahoogroups.com.



Through this group he has been serving the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia since long: bringing the community together, helping those with problems by connecting them with those who can help solve them, helping the jobless and those in financial distress among others.



He keeps his community informed about news, views and events taking place in the Kingdom.



He has received numerous memento shields and certificates in recognition and appreciations of his services for the Pakistani community here. — SG
