Kuwait records 886 new COVID-19 cases, 4 deaths

KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait on Tuesday registered 886 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, marking an increase of 200 from Monday's 686 infections.

The ministry announced four more deaths from complications caused by COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed infections and virus-related fatalities in the country to 117,718 and 714 respectively, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health carried by state news agency KUNA.

According to the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, there are currently 7,806 active cases in the country out of which 133 are receiving treatment in intensive care units.

A total of 7,935 tests were conducted over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 examinations in the country so far to 842,102, Dr. Al-Sanad said.

Meanwhile, 592 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country to 109,198. — SG
