Bahraini, Israeli foreign ministers hold telephone talks

MANAMA — Bahrain's Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani held telephone talks with his Israeli counterpart Gabi Ashkenazi, Bahrain News Agency reported on Wednesday.

During the call, the two ministers exchanged congratulations on the signing of the peace accord between Bahrain and Israel, in addition to a number of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) between the two countries in different areas.

They described the signing of the peace deal and MoUs as a historic achievement that will help in expanding the means of joint cooperation between the two countries and consolidating security and stability in the region for a more prosperous and peaceful future for its people.

The ministers also stressed the need to continue communication between the two sides to follow up on promoting joint bilateral cooperation in all areas, and exchange views regarding various issues and challenges facing the region.
