Civil Defense teams battling fire in Asir’s Jabal Ghulamah

The Civil Defense Forces continued on Thursday their efforts to extinguish a huge fire that broke out in a rugged area in Jabal Ghulamah in Tanuma governorate in the southern Asir region.

The Ghulamah Mountain is situated between Tanuma and Namas governorates. No one was reportedly hurt in the mishap.

Capt. Muhammad Al-Sayed, the spokesman of the Civil Defense directorate in Asir region, said that they had received from people of Tanuma a report on Wednesday evening about a fire breaking out in a group of trees and herbs in Jabal Ghulamah and the nearby Al-Dhahara village in Tanuma governorate, north of Asir region.

The intensity of the winds contributed to its spread and the firefighting teams rushed to the scene. The firefighters undertook their mission, using the equipment and supplies necessary for such incidents in the rugged terrain.

Photos and videos of the massive blaze went viral on the social media in the Kingdom and the neighboring countries with the hashtag “Tanuma Fire”.
