COVID-19 cases in Saudi Arabia again fall below 400-mark, deaths drop to 14

RIYADH — Saudi Arabia on Friday recorded 383 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 344,157, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

According to the ministry, 14 more died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities to 5,264.

The ministry also reported 397 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 330,578 with the recovery rate rising to 96.5 percent.

All cities in the Kingdom once again reported less than 50 new cases with Riyadh recording 42 followed by Makkah with 40, Madinah and Jeddah with 11 infections.

The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.

With the drop in new coronavirus infections, active cases have also fallen with 8,315 reported on Friday, out of which 796 are critical.
