MANAMA — Bahrain has welcomed the signing of the permanent ceasefire agreement in all parts of Libya, which was reached at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva between the Government of National Accord and the Libyan National Army on Friday.

In a statement, Bahrain's foreign ministry described the move as “an important achievement and a necessary step that will contribute to establishing security and stability in Libya.

“While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs commends all the efforts made in this agreement, it expresses its aspiration to continue efforts by all concerned states and parties to ensure the stability and territorial integrity of Libya and achieve the aspirations of its people for development, prosperity, the elimination of terrorist organizations, and ending foreign interference in its affairs,” the statement added. — SG
