Defaming Prophets only serves extremists — Ulema

October 25, 2020

RIYADH — The Senior Scholars Council confirmed on Sunday that defaming Prophets and Messengers will never harm them, but only serves extremists who want to spread calls for hatred among humanitarian communities.

In a statement, the Council urged wise and prudent men of the world community, including individuals and organizations, to denounce such insults as they are not related to freedom of expression or wise thinking but only fall within offering free service to extremists.

The statement stated that Islam prohibited accusing any Prophet of lying or wrong-doing and barred attacking religious figures whoever.

The Council said Muslims ought to disseminate the profile of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), citing his mercy, justice, tolerance and working for the good. — SG
