SPDRY, MEWA sign MoC to support agricultural sector in Yemen

RIYADH — The Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) Eng. Abdulrahman Bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, met here on Monday with Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of the Republic of Yemen Othman Majali, in a key meeting to discuss cooperation.

They met in the presence of Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SPDRY) Supervisor General Ambassador Mohammad Bin Saeed Al Jaber and Yemeni Ambassador Dr. Shaya'e Mohsen Al-Zindani, to discuss aspects of partnership and ways of cooperation between the two ministries through the SPDRY.

At the end of the meeting, a joint memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Saudi Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture and the SPDRY, which will contribute to achieving environmental, living and economic balance in Yemen, and building specialized capabilities in the environmental, agricultural and vital fields, in a way that improves the lives of the people of the various Yemeni governorates.

IOM builds primary

school in Marib, Yemen

The International Organization for Migration (IOM), with the support of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), built a primary school, in Marib governorate, Yemen, benefiting more than 1,200 students.

The IOM aims, in cooperation with the KSrelief, to enhance the educational opportunities for the Yemeni children, motivate them to join the educational process, and provide them with the basic needs.

This comes within the framework of the support being provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief, to the IOM to enhance the educational aspect in Yemen and various other countries. — SPA
