RIYADH — The Arab Coalition forces intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone that was launched on Tuesday morning by the Iran-backed Houthi militia targeting civilians and civilians target in Saudi Arabia, cited a report in Saudi Press Agency quoting official spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki.

“The Joint Coalition Forces have intercepted and destroyed this morning (Tuesday) a bomb-laden UAV launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia to target civilians and civilian objects in the Southern Region,” said Col. Al-Maliki in a statement.

The Tuesday’s destruction of the UAV followed the Coalition forces destroying two explosive-laden drone in Yemeni airspace on Monday, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon, launched by the Houthi militia.

These Houthi-launched attacks on Monday follow three failed attempts by the Iran-backed militia on Sunday to launch UAVs toward Saudi Arabia, targeting civilians.

The Coalition forces had intercepted and destroyed, on Sunday, bomb-laden UAVs launched systematically and deliberately by the terrorist Houthi militia on three separate occasions.

The failed attacks are the latest in the series of armed drones launched by the Houthis in recent weeks. — SPA
