RIYADH — The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSRelief) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) have joined hands to implement a project to provide emergency services for women and girls affected by gender-based violence in Yemen through an agreement.

The agreement, which was signed remotely by KSRelief supervisor-general Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah and the UNFPA's Deputy Executive Director for Management Ib Petersen.

The agreement aims to help women and girls who are survivors of gender-based violence to reintegrate into society, providing them with psychological and social support through a range of services.

It also aims to help strengthen protection mechanisms for women and girls in Yemen to prevent and limit the spread of gender-based violence.

The agreement includes vocational and professional training programs to empower at-risk women and girls by enhancing their skills and capabilities. The project will provide support to 28,640 women and girls from the governorates of Aden, Shabwah, Lahij, Al Mahrah, Ma'rib, and Hadhramaut.

This agreement is part of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to providing comprehensive support to the Yemeni people.
