Man held for attacking guard at French consulate in Jeddah

JEDDAH —
A man was arrested in Jeddah after he attacked and injured a security guard at the French consulate on Thursday.

The guard is reported to have sustained some minor injuries.

In a statement carried by Saudi Press Agency, the spokesman of Makkah Region Police, Maj. Mohammed Al-Ghamdi, said: The Diplomatic Security Special Forces were able to arrest a Saudi citizen in his 40s after he attacked a security guard at the French Consulate in Jeddah using a sharp tool resulting in minor injuries.”

The spokesman added that the injured guard has been transferred to the hospital to receive treatment, noting that the perpetrator was arrested, and necessary measures are being taken against him.
