CAIRO — The Arab Parliament expressed its concern over the developments of the situation in Yemen and its humanitarian and health repercussions due to Houthi militia’s violations of human dignity of the Yemeni people, all international laws and conventions, and values of equality and social justice in the Yemeni society.

In a statement on Thursday, the Arab Parliament welcomed the prisoner exchange agreement between the legitimate Yemeni government and the militia announced by United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths.

It expressed serious concerns over the safety of the Safer oil tanker anchored off Ras Isa Port in Hodeidah Governorate, saying that it has remained unmaintained for the last five years. There is an imminent risk of leakage of hundreds and thousands of barrels of crude oil, causing a disaster.

The Arab Parliament affirmed its support for Saudi Arabia's mechanism to accelerate the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement.
