RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman have sent cables to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune after he tested positive for coronavirus, Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.

In their messages, King Salman and the Crown Prince wished the Algerian president good health, wellbeing, and speedy recovery.

Tebboune, 74, is undergoing treatment for the deadly virus in a hospital in Germany after contracting the infection. He is currently reported to be stable.

“The medical team says that the results of the tests are reassuring.”

The president “has begun to receive the adequate treatment,” his office said on Thursday without giving further details.

The Algerian president was transferred on Wednesday to Germany from an Algerian hospital.
