RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded on Monday 381 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, up 7 on Sunday’s figure of 374, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.
The ministry announced 17 more patients died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19.
This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 348,037 and virus-related fatalities to 5,437.
The ministry also reported 436 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 334,672 with the recovery rate rising to 96.16 percent.
Of the new cases, Madinah recorded the highest with 72 followed by Makkah with 49, and Riyadh with 37 infections.
The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom.
Meanwhile, active cases have dropped to less than 8,000 with 7,928 reported on Monday, out of which 755 are critical, the statement added.
