Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — Construction works for the first global center for digital arts called Al-Diriyah Art Oasis have begun in Al-Diriyah near Riyadh.

The center, spread over 10,000 square meters, located next to Al-Bujairi Heritage District in Al-Diriyah, is scheduled to open in 2022. This will be the first global platform celebrating arts and innovation in the fields of digital art and artificial intelligence.

The center would house six art studios, a library, an art store, workspace for artists, and halls for workshops and training classes to form an integrated creative platform to promote digital arts.

Al-Diriyah Art Oasis, which is designed by the renowned Italian engineer Amedeo Citarella, will be the world’s first specialized center for digital arts to explore four major educational tracks such as arts programs, artificial intelligence, creative computing, and machine learning.

The Ministry of Culture is partnering with the Al-Diriyah Gate Development Authority in establishing Al-Diriyah Art Oasis, as a center for contemporary culture in the heart of Al-Diriyah.

This is part of exploring the flourishing art scene in the Kingdom in light of the Saudi Vision 2030, and to contribute to transforming Al-Diriyah into a cultural and tourism platform that encourages artistic expression, and investing in future sciences.
