RIYADH —
Saudi Export Development Authority (Saudi Exports) is set to launch the “Made in Saudi” program in collaboration with its partners within the industrial ecosystem.

It will be launched in the beginning of the first quarter of 2021. The authority said that the program would be launched in line with its vision to support national products and make them the best option for consumers as well as to strengthen their confidence in the national product.

It will also activate the growth of non-oil gross domestic product (GDP) through raising the loyalty of customers toward national products and services in a way realizing the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision to diversify sources of income.

The program aspires to position Saudi products and services as the preferred choice locally and globally among consumers, businesses and investors. The program comes as part of Saudi Exports commitment to back the realization of Vision 2030 strategic objectives and support the growth of the non-oil GDP.

The Secretary General of the Saudi Export Development Authority Eng. Saleh Al Solami said that "Made in Saudi" is a national program and one of the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program (NIDLP) initiatives, which aims at transforming the Kingdom into a global industrial destination.

“Through this program, the Kingdom strives to launch a uniform identity to promote Saudi products and services in the local and international markets. The program would contribute to draw a positive mentality toward Saudi products among consumers and strengthen the desire of citizens and expatriates in the consumption as well as in giving preference to the Saudi products and feel pride in using them.

“The program also aims to encourage investments in the Saudi industrial sector and enable Saudi products to achieve competitiveness in the local, regional and global markets, in addition to strengthening their role in raising the percentage of Saudi non-oil exports from 16 percent to 50 percent of the non-oil GDP by the year 2030,” Al Solami added.

The program will further shape the positive image and perception of the Saudi products and services and reinforce pride among Saudi consumers and manufacturers to choose Saudi products, he said.

Planned to launch by Q1 of 2021, "Made in Saudi" will offer compelling membership schemes to member companies providing access to local and global promotional opportunities in partnership with public and private sectors along with helping products that meet the program’s eligibility criteria expand their penetration and outreach in target markets.

It will offer compelling membership schemes to local companies that meet the program’s eligibility criteria and will provide them with a fast-tracked access to promotional opportunities and incentives in partnership with public and private sectors.

Member companies will also be eligible to use the Made in Saudi Marque on their products to support their growth and expansion in target markets.

Moreover, the program would bring about several privileges to the companies that would spur their growth and expansion, and that is in cooperation with its partners in both the public and private sectors.

Saudi Exports is an independent national authority that seeks to develop Saudi non-oil exports.

The authority is concerned with opening up to global markets, and employing all its economic capabilities to encourage Saudi products in international markets, leverage competitive quality, and reach new products in order to meet the present day requirements.
