4 more die as Kuwait continues to see spike in COVID-19 cases

KUWAIT CITY — Kuwait recorded on Thursday 773 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 134,932, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health carried by state news agency KUNA.

The ministry also announced four more deaths due to complications caused by the deadly virus, taking the total number of fatalities to 830.

According to the ministry’s spokesman Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, there are currently 8,509 active cases in the country out of which 110 are receiving treatment in intensive care units.

A total of 7,272 tests were conducted over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of COVID-19 examinations in the country so far to 993,416, Dr. Al-Sanad said.

Earlier in the day, the ministry announced that a total of 688 more patients have recovered from COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, pushing the total number of recoveries in the country to 125,593. — SG
