RIYADH — Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir said that the Kingdom is working with global pharmaceutical companies to develop an effective COVID-19 vaccine.

In his speech at the Paris Peace Forum on Thursday, Al-Jubeir said that the Kingdom seeks to achieve this goal to help people everywhere in the world protect themselves against this pandemic.

The minister highlighted the great efforts made by the Saudi government to combat the epidemic, especially as the Kingdom has hosted the virtual G20 summit earlier this year to show its commitment to dealing with COVID-19 and working with global partners to reach a solution for this crisis.

The Kingdom has contributed with $500 million to support the international efforts and the World Health Organization (WHO) to fight such pandemic, as well as help the countries that need support. — SG
