Al-Othaimeen: Freedom of expression does not mean offending religions

JEDDAH — The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Dr. Yousef Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen affirmed that the position of the OIC is consistent in terms of rejecting extremism, terrorism, considering that terrorism phenomenon has no religion or nationality.

He stressed that freedom of expression does not mean offending followers of religions or religious symbols.

He made this statement during a talk over phone with Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-Yves Le Drian, in which the two sides discussed the relations between the OIC and France.

For his part, the French foreign minister stressed that France respects Islam and is keen to support dialogue and cooperation with the OIC. — SPA
